Taste of Asia, Canada’s largest Asian festival, is back! Returning to Markham, this will be the 18th year for the event, which celebrates harmony, cuisine and culture.

Expect flavour and fun at this year’s Taste of Asia, which kicks off on June 24. Hosted by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), this year it will take on the theme of celebrating collaboration with Hakka World Conference, and Asialicious.

“We will also address Anti-Racism, along with the traditional Taste of Asia Festival performances of different cultures to stimulate the public to understand their cultures and to create harmony through an event that fosters mutual respect and cooperation between various ethnocultural groups,” states the event.

Taste of Asia began back in 2003 during the SARS outbreak with a mandate of boosting the local economy. According to organizers, at the time, it “also provided a platform for the community to promote the multicultural mosaic of Canada.”

The event will take place at Kennedy and Steeles, starting June 24 and concluding on June 26 at 5pm.
