If you’re looking forward to cooler days and all things fall, we’ve got some exciting news to share. Abbotsford’s ‘Taste of Abby’ fest is back for its second annual fall food festival, and it’ll be pumpkin spice season before you know it.

Over the course of 10 days next month, visitors can gather and sample the best of the harvest season with a mix of delicious farm-to-table experiences, seasonal bites, spirit, cider, and beer releases, and exciting fall-themed activities. Plus, the entire festival kicks off with a special night market to ring in the new, bountiful season!

Night market

The inaugural night market will take place on September 15th at Jubilee Park in Historic Downtown Abbotsford, complete with live music, artisan shopping, and a ton of fall flavours from Abbotsford’s makers.

“Abbotsford’s annual Taste of Abby showcases some of the top culinary experiences our community has to offer,” says Mayor Ross Siemens. “At the peak of harvest, our growers and their farm-fresh, high-quality foods join together with the extraordinary culinary skills of our local chefs, brewers, makers and producers to create a unique community showcase with events happening for more than a week across our community”

Throughout the week, visitors can eat their way through the festival, as well as participate in a variety of workshops and guided tours. Try your hand (or feet, as it were) at grape stomping, go on an art and wine walk in Historic Downtown (September 21st from 4 to 8 pm), play a round or two of Pickleball, or go take a foraging workshop.

Oh, and don’t miss out on the annual Food and Farm Excellence Awards on the final day of the fest on September 24th!

Finally, we want to highlight the festival’s commitment to promoting sustainable and healthy food systems. A curated video series by Aaron Pete (host of the Bigger Than Me podcase) showcases the dedication of four local makers, which will run throughout Taste of Abby.
