Tacoma listed among the 25 of most underrated destinations in the US

Tacoma, Washington, is getting more love.

Earlier this summer, CNN Travel shared its inaugural list of “America’s Best Towns to Visit” in 2024, and Tacoma was on it, ranking in third place among the top 10.

And now, the Washington city has made another of CNN Travel’s lists. It has been ranked as one of the 25 most underrated destinations in the USA!

According to CNN Travel, there are plenty of places across the country “that continue to fly beneath the travel radar.”

For their ranking, they looked at cities, national parks, regions, and even entire states that “remain refreshingly underrated.”

As for Tacoma, here’s why it made the list this year.

“Seattle may get the lion’s share of ink (and visitors), but Tacoma can hold its own when it comes to outstanding attractions thanks to the incredible glass art of native son Dale Chihuly, one of the nation’s best classic car collections and outstanding seafood,” it states.

“The great outdoors also beckons: Tacoma is closer than Seattle to Mount Rainier and Olympic national parks, as well as awesome cold-water scuba diving in the Hood Canal.”

It is the only place in Washington listed.
