Nothing screams ‘summer’ like an outdoor concert, and what better way to kick off the season than with a free evening of classical music by the beach? Symphony at Sunset is officially back this year, with recognizable orchestral tunes by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO).
Taking place at Sunset Beach Park, the open-air symphony will feature a selection of classical hits from films like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and E.T.
The evening will be conducted by VSO’s Music Director Otto Tausk, beginning with a special orchestral arrangement of the Coast Salish Anthem, which was gifted to the VSO by the grandson of the late Chief Dan George.
