Good news, salad lovers. Sweetgreens is about to open its first Seattle-area location, and it is the first of three planned for the region.

Sweetgreens is known for its “farm-to-table” fast food, offering salads made with in-season vegetables and unprocessed ingredients from local farmers.

And after being in over 10 states, it is finally opening in Washington.

It’s first location is in Totem Lake, and it opens on January 16.

The new Sweetgreen will be located at 11900 NE Village Plaza, Suite 164, and its doors open at 10:30 am.

According to their website, two more locations are planned for the area including 11th + Pine, as well as South Lake Union. Opening dates for those have yet to be shared at this time.

Sweetgreen started by collage students looking for a healthier way to eat back in 2007.

“When we were in school, there were two choices: food that was slow, expensive, and fresh—or fast, cheap, and unhealthy. We saw an opportunity to create a business where quality was never sacrificed for convenience,” states Sweetgreen’s website.

“On August 1st 2007, two months after graduating, we opened sweetgreen in Washington DC, and served our first customers with a vision to reimagine fast food.”

And now we get to try it right here!
