Big news for anyone who participated in last month’s YYC Hot Chocolate Fest! Obviously, we all had our favourites but it’s time to announce the bakeries and restaurants that really wowed the crowd. 2021 was no sip in the park, with over 40 different spots in Calgary pulling out all of the stops, creams and toppings in order to impress you guys; and man did they ever!

This year’s winning categories include Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate and of course the coveted Cup That Runneth Over award, but who won?!

Well, with participants like Ollia, Lazy Loaf and Kettle and Bea’s Cafe; as well as hot drink heavyweights like Alforno and Monogram on the roster, it was pretty close, but here goes! Drumroll, please!

This year’s best hot chocolate went to Flower & Wolf, for their honeycomb hot chocolate, with Cravings Market and Restaurant snagging Best Spirited hot chocolate with their Cherry Blossom Bliss. Lastly, this year’s Cup That Runneth Over award went to Euphoria Cafe, for their enchanting butterbeer hot chocolate, inspired by the wizarding world of Harry Potter – so snaps for them!

Of course, winning isn’t everything! As always, a portion of proceeds made during YYC Hot Chocolate Fest will go towards supporting Calgary Meals on Wheels, an organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to those in need and for that, we can be proud, so great job, everyone!

Here’s to next year!
