Ok, this initiative definitely brings supporting local to a whole new level… In case you haven’t already heard, Canada United is a movement to show local businesses some love by encouraging Canadians to get out there to shop or dine local! It’s all culminating with Canada United Weekend (which starts today!), a celebration of local businesses. 

During Canada United Weekend, you could win* one of 25 cash prizes of $10,000 just by supporting your favourite Vancouver restaurants or stores! Limitations apply.

All you have to do is shop or dine at eligible local spots this weekend and then visit the Canada United website to enter the contest online.. That’s it! 

The movement is also helping out Canadian small business owners with their COVID recovery, and you don’t need to spend money to support it! Just hit the link here to watch this online video, use the hashtag #CanadaUnited on Twitter or like posts on @GoCanadaUnited. Every time you complete one of these small actions (until August 31), RBC will contribute 5¢ to the Canada United Small Business Relief Fund, which will provide eligible business owners with grants of up to $5,000. 

So, get out there and shop and dine to your heart’s content! It’s for the good of our city after all….
