Located just south of Summerland, this beach is a must-visit if you’re in the Okanagan Valley. Whether you’re taking a day trip to enjoy some wineries in Kelowna or driving through to Vernon or Osoyoos for a day at the lake – you’ll definitely want to add Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park to your itinerary.

The name? A shortened version of “Sunny Okanagan,” which pretty much tells you all you need to know. The park boasts stunning stretches of sand, clear water, and sweeping views down Okanagan Lake. Plus, there are more than enough picnic spots to go around – and a park-operated concession area during the warmer months.

The cottonwood-lined trails along Trout Creek offer visitors a glimpse into the unique wildlife of the area, as well as a hiking adventure that is guaranteed to end with a plunge into the water to cool off.

Rally your family and friends together for a bbq by the lake, or enjoy a scenic paddle through the crystal blue water. Or do both, of course. After all, there’s no better way to work up an appetite in the summer than through an invigorating water activity.

Well, that’s all for now, Vancouver! Be sure to hydrate & stay cool during this heatwave, and make some plans to visit Sun-Oka if you can. We know we will!
