A unique and international snowboard competition is coming to Edmonton

We the weather so hot today, we think it’s only fair to focus on something cool. Luckily, we’ve got just the update to share! This winter, Edmonton will host the only ‘in city’ stadium snowboard competition in all of Canada. Here’s what to know about this super unique experience.

Originally announced last week, the Federation of International Skiing (FIS) provided even more details about the plan today. In a nutshell? Edmonton will host the first-ever Snowboard FIS World Cup ‘Stadium’ big air competition, also known as the ‘Style Experience’, in the country.

While that’s a word salad, the premise is actually pretty simple. The world’s best freestyle snowboarders will be descending on The Commonwealth Stadium this December, bringing exciting and gravity-defying big air tricks with them.

And of course, no event is complete without some add-on fun. Visitors can expect everything from live music in the background to art exhibits to even some snowboard demonstrations. If you’re hungry or wanna get a little shopping done, expect both vendors and food/drink options as well.

It’s a long ways out, but hopefully it helps you stay a little cooler this summer!

Style Experience Edmonton
