From mountains and lakes to nightlife and beachy escapes, the Great North really has it all – but which destinations reign supreme? Well, this week Travel + Leisure released their list of the 5 best cities in all of Canada and you may be surprised to know who landed a coveted spot.

Known for sharing expert travel tips and city guides, T+L has long ranked everything from favoured city hotels to the most beautiful resorts using data from their annual World’s Best survey and this year was no exception.

After asking thousands of readers to rate their favourites around the globe, the publication was able to determine the 5 best cities in Canada in addition to the best hotels and resorts across the country.

Based on sights, landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping and overall value it was Quebec City that took the top spot for the 7th year in a row.
