There’s a park in Ontario with a stunning waterfall at the end of an old forest road

Egan Chutes Provincial Park is home to three beautiful cascading waterfalls. But to find these hidden gems, you’ll need to embark on a journey down the end of an old forest road.

The Ontario park is about three hours away from Toronto. It’s located eastbound, heading towards Ottawa.

According to Ontario Parks, Egan Chutes is a non-operating park, which means there are no activities or facilities here.

Nonetheless, it’s a natural wonder waiting to be enjoyed. It’s actually a nature reserve and protects a section of the York River.

The park is popular for birding, hiking, and taking a peaceful stroll. It’s home to three cascades, but you’ll have to embark on a little bit of a journey.

Old forest road

According to Ontario Parks, a short walk along an unmaintained road will take visitors to the three picturesque waterfalls.

It’s important to note that there is no swimming allowed, and since there are no guardrails, walk with caution.

Gem enthusiasts may notice several minerals on the grounds of the park, including nepheline, sodalite, biotite, zircon, and blue corundum.

It’s also worth noting that mineral collecting is prohibited. These minerals are meant to stay as they are in their natural environment. Admire the surrounding area and its beauty, but don’t mess with it.

If you’re itching for an adventure, this is the place to be this spring.

Add Egan Chutes Provincial Park to your bucket list. We’ll see you there!
