Attention, Metro Vancouver! One of the country’s largest Canada Day celebrations is returning to Steveston Village this year, and it’s bringing together a full day of live music, family fun, and over 20 food trucks. Yes, we’re talking about this year’s Steveston Salmon Festival!
Now in its 77th year, the beloved annual celebration will once again feature the classic Pancake Breakfast, Salmon Bake, and Chow Mein near the Steveston Community Centre, in addition to tasty on-site food trucks.
This includes Johnny’s Pops, Martha’s Kettle Corn, Takenaka, Tornado Truck, and much more.
While there are no fireworks planned for this year, the festival has added a second stage for live music called “Catch of the Day,” which will have a variety of performances from noon to 5 pm, with Midnight Cruiser Band taking the stage at 4 pm.
Visitors can also enjoy live music at the Spirit of Steveston zone, including a performance by six-piece Canadian dance band Dr. Strangelove at 5 pm.
