It’s no secret that frontline healthcare workers are heroes, but right now it’s becoming even more apparent. In a move of appreciation, Starbucks is beginning to give free hot and iced coffee to medical workers in the U.S. and Canada.
There is a catch, however, as plenty of Starbucks stores have temporarily closed all in-store service. According to Starbucks Canada’s Instagram, they have kept certain stores near hospitals open while limiting the people who can go inside.
The offer is apparently valid for police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, hospital staff and researchers.

That being said, drive-thrus are currently open, so if you meet the free-coffee criteria you can always go that route. In a statement made Wednesday, Starbucks announced that “starting today through May 3, any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge.”
Alright, well free Starbucks sounds like a pretty good deal! Here’s to staying safe and to our frontline workers staying fuelled.
