Stampede’s Nashville North will require proof of vaccine or rapid test for entry

Just a few days before the kick-off of the Calgary Stampede, one of the most famous attractions (and certainly for anyone over 18) has revealed new requirements for entry. Nashville North, the iconic country music bar and tent, will now ask for either proof of vaccination or a rapid test for COVID before letting people inside.

The plan is called 2 Ways 2 Two Step, and is done in partnership with 19 to Zero, a coalition of academics, public health experts, and more. Guests will need to show a physical or digital copy of their vaccine record, or be willing to take a rapid COVID test and await results.

Stated on the Calgary Stampede website, Nashville North’s 2 Ways 2 Two Step program goes as follows:

Step 1: Get pre-qualified. Show any proof of vaccination (minimum one (1) dose administered two (2) weeks prior to the entry date) or take a COVID rapid test on-site and return a negative result.

Step 2: Get your wristband. After presenting proof of vaccination or receiving a negative COVID rapid test result, you will receive a wristband for access into Nashville North.

Wristband and access to Nashville North is valid for the day of issue only. Nashville North entry requirements will be monitored throughout this year’s Calgary Stampede and operations may adjust as necessary. The most up-to-date information will be available on our website.

Luckily, this won’t turn the usual nothingness of a 2-hour wait into one that’s 4. Instead, Nashville North has brought in a new virtual line that folks can enter by scanning a QR code on the entrance. That right there is pretty much enough to convince us to go. Swing by the tent mid-day, go mess around at the midway, then return for a country music concert at night! At least, that’s our plan.
