This charming Alberta town is home to the world's first UFO landing pad
Come for the Mountains, stay a while for the roadside attractions! Wild Rose Country is full of surprises, but few are as extra (terrestrial) as the World’s first UFO Landing Pad in the town of St. Paul, Alberta.
Located northeast of Edmonton, this charming town has plenty of space for everyone – and we mean everyone.
Despite being described as a ‘people kind of place,’ St. Paul assigned the country’s most unique parking stall to visitors not of this world after being named the “Centennial Capital of Canada” – but why?
The reason is simple… and incredibly wholesome.

“Built in 1967, the Landing Pad stands for unity,” they explain on their website.
“That was the dream in 1967 and it is the dream today. We hope you’ll feel it when you walk through the door; you are very welcome here.”
Whether you’re staying for a few days or just passing through, this unique site is worth stopping by.
Not only can you climb up onto the platform, but you can also wander the exhibit downstairs which has actual photographs of UFOs and crop circles.
Once you’ve learned a thing or two, guests are encouraged to go shopping at one of their many boutiques that represent over 50 local artisans, grab a coffee a their gift shop which offers 360° views of the town, or do a scavenger hunt.
