This Ontario village is home to Canada’s largest year-round farmers market

If you enjoy a farmers market, then you’ll LOVE St. Jacobs, Ontario. This quaint village is located just north of Waterloo, and although it’s small, it sure packs a punch, as it’s home to Canada’s largest year-round farmers market.

Here’s what to do during your visit.

According to St. Jacobs’ website, “The Village of St. Jacobs is filled with authentic sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and incredible one-of-a-kind shopping that are sure to re-inspire the soul.” Adorable!

Let’s start with the village’s biggest attraction, the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. Open all year round, the market features a diverse range of vendors selling food, drinks, home decor, wine, beer, artisan goods, and more.

Check out the full directory of vendors here.

Did you know the village is still home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in Canada? In fact, you’ll often see farmers on local roads travelling to the market by horse and buggy.

A must-stop is at The Village Biergarten. The Village Biergarten has one of the largest outdoor patios in Waterloo Region, serving up rotational cuisine, fresh brews, wine and cocktails. A perfect place to cap off your day.

We can’t think of a cuter village to visit on a nice spring/summer day.

Have a great time in St. Jacobs, and be sure to get lots of goodies.
