It’s officially tulip season at many of BC’s farms, and Greendale Acres in Chilliwack is prepared to unveil a whole host of family-friendly attractions this spring.

Inspired by the colourful varieties of Dutch flower festivals, the farm is transforming into a magical experience for all ages this spring. This includes the Sweet Spring Flower and Animal Festival, which takes place from April 7th to May 6th.

The festival will include 50,000 hand-planted flowers that form a colourful tapestry, punctured by meandering rivers of tulips that lead guests across scenic footbridges and windmills. Picture a quintessential spring snapshot!

Easter activities

Even sooner, the farm will celebrate Easter with an Easter Egg Hunt from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday, March 29th to Sunday, March 31st. In addition to a huge egg scavenger hunt in the apple orchard, families can snap a photo with the Easter Bunny, meet some baby animals, and hang out at the fire pits.

Chilliwack Plowing Match

The fun continues on Saturday, April 6th, when the farm will host its popular Chilliwack Plowing Match from 9 am to 3 pm. For $12 per person, guests can take advantage of all of Greendale’s attractions, animal displays, and tractor wagon rides. Plus, there will be a by-donation pancake breakfast that day to help raise funds for Chilliwack Bowls of Hope Society.

New this year between April 7th and May 6th is Lily’s Barnyard, which will offer farm visitors the chance to meet Lily the Lamb on the weekends.

Other family-friendly activities at Greendale Acres include a jumping pillow, adventure course, bubble barn, pedal cart track, hay-bale maze, and corn sandbox. So rest assured you’ll never run out of things to do here!

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you’re looking for some family-friendly fun on the farm, you know where to look.
