Attention, seafood lovers! This year’s annual Spot Prawn Festival in Vancouver is on its way, and you won’t want to miss it.

The spot prawn is considered a crown jewel of BC, known around the world for its sweet, delicate flavour and firm texture. We’ve definitely lucked out on the west coast, as prawn season can last anywhere from six to eight weeks.

Hosted by the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia, the city’s Spot Prawn Festival will include live cooking demos with some of Vancouver’s top chefs, as well as live music, and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

While the festival is free to attend, you may want to splurge on their grazing-style Spot Prawn Brunch ($79 per person), which features six delicious spot prawn dishes.

Otherwise, visitors can snag 10 oz of tasty Spot Prawn Bisque for just $10.

Note that the brunch is available to those aged 19+ only.

So there you have it, Vancouver! Be sure to bring some cash and get to the dock early to load up on spot prawns.
