Hybrid and remote work arrangements have become the norm in 2022, which is why the world’s largest flexible workspace and office provider continues to grow. And, they just announced Spaces coworking will be opening a massive flagship location downtown Toronto.

IWG, the parent company which helps “people and their businesses to work more productively,” said that to help meet the demand, it will be opening five new Spaces coworking locations in Canada in early 2022, in both urban and suburban markets including Toronto, Ottawa, Dartmouth, Vancouver, and Surrey.

The Toronto flagship will be five floors in the Bay Street building at 320 Bay Street. It will be connected to the underground PATH system, and close to Union Station. It’s set to open in February.

“The pandemic has sped up the shift away from the traditional office towards a more flexible approach to the world of work,” said Wayne Berger, CEO, IWG Americas.

“Because the appetite for hybrid work has significantly accelerated, our brands and coworking locations globally have seen an increase in demand from companies looking for innovative, employee-centric, and ubiquitous work solutions for their employees, particularly in suburban areas and small towns and cities, which has been a real growth area for us.”

The company said its goal is to open in every town and city across Canada.

“Hybrid work is here to stay,” said Berger. “In the early months of 2022, we look forward to establishing new collaborative work hubs in Ottawa, Dartmouth, Toronto, Surrey, and Vancouver.”
