A Cambodian Seattle restaurant has been named among the best in 2024. Sophon is on Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants of 2024, so if you’re looking for a new spot to try, this is the one!

According to Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants list, their search took six-months. They added that “chefs across the country are wholeheartedly embracing collaboration, pulling ideas from cooks and waiters, their mentors, and other restaurants to create unique menus infused with personality and a real sense of place.”

This year’s list ranges in cuisines, with restaurants specializing in everything from ramen, to Persian, and even Japanese teahouse.

Sophon, Seattle

Seattle’s Sophon, which is located at 7314 Greenwood Avenue N, is on the list and the ranking calls it “a testament to Cambodian resilience.”

It goes on to speak of the menu, which is “rooted in traditional flavors but pulls influences from Seattle’s cultural and culinary bounty.”

“Order the Mekong or the savory Khlang, featuring a Brie-infused rye—a subtle gesture to the country’s history of French colonization. As you savor your final sips, Long might emerge to share more about his world. But by then you’re already immersed in it,” it states in the description.
