International Women’s Day (and Week) is upon us, Vancouver! It’s a great time to celebrate the amazing contributions women have made to our lives. But, it’s also a great chance to enjoy some great events taking place around the city. So, we’ve put together a few virtual events for you to check out this International Women’s Week.

Fill your day with the Choose to Challenge Seminar Series

In this virtual seminar taking palace this Sunday, you really can try everything. From a morning Sweat Session led by a boxer, to several food, drink and finance-related events, this seminar’s got everything you could think of. And yes, there is a cocktail component.

When: Sunday, March 7th, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (and beyond)

Check out great women-created films

The Vancouver International Women in Film Festival is focused entirely on, you guess it, the stories told by women. The movies featured are from all over the world, but a lion’s share are from Canadian filmmakers, including some locals. So, go out and support some amazing women filmmakers!

When: March 4th to 14th
Cost: $40 for a full festival pass

Dine on some Greek food for charity

The North Shore restaurant, Anatoli Souvlaki is partnering with The North Shore’s Women’s Centre to bring you a great meal for charity. For $75 you can get your choice of a great Greek take-out meal, with all profits going to the North Shore Women’s Centre.

When: March 1st to 14th

Get entrepreneurial with this ‘women in business’ conference

Young Women in Business UBC is putting together a great online conference benefiting the Atira Women’s Resource Society. At this event, you can network with, learn from and talk to some top women in business. Plus, the tickets are nice and cheap.

When: Sunday, March 7th, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost: $0 – $5

Listen to some great music from around the world

The She Can Bloom International Women’s Day celebration brings music from around the world to your laptop. Based in Vancouver, the event will feature several musicians performing for a recommended $20 donation. And, all funds are going to each musician’s local charity of choice.

When: Monday, March 8th, 9 p.m. to midnight
Cost: By donation
