This Ontario beach town has a snowy boardwalk to a scenic lighthouse

Despite the cold, who’s to say you can’t enjoy a day at the beach? Maybe jumping in isn’t ideal, but you could still enjoy the wonderful vistas they’re known to offer. And the best place to do it is in Wellington, Ontario – a true gem within Prince Edward County.

You’ll find this wonderful town located on the north shore of Lake Ontario. It’s home to lovely small shops, local eateries, and a few places to spend the night.

Maybe you’ve driven past it? It’s just a short drive from Sandbanks Provincial Park. But if you’re coming from Toronto, it’s about a two and a half hours drive.

Swimming in Lake Ontario in March does not sound great, so scrap that idea. What you can do instead is embark on a journey along the town’s scenic boardwalk. It lines the beach and guides you to a lighthouse, according to Discover Wellington.

It truly is the perfect escape.

When you’re ready to call it a night and rather spend another day in the area, you can retreat to The Lakeside Motel or the Drake Devonshire. There’s lots to do in the area, making it a weekend getaway is a must.
