Attention, foodies of Toronto! The largest weekly open-air food market in America, Smorgasburg, is gracing our waterfront for the second summer in a row.

The market, which is popular in cities like Brooklyn, LA, and Miami, has announced that it will be returning to Toronto every Sunday from late June to early September.

“Get a taste of Toronto’s culinary diversity and burgeoning food and arts scene weekly this summer,” said Smorgasburg in their announcement.

Admission to the “food flea market” is free and there will be over 50 hand-picked vendors on-site showcasing their delicious cuisine.

Smorgasburg draws up to 30,000 people every weekend in Brooklyn, and it’s safe to say that the event is equally as popular here in TO.

Smorgasburg first launched in 2011 and has launched in many cities and attracted millions of visitors since. The New York Times even dubbed it “The Woodstock of Eating.”

Last summer, the market also featured a fully-stocked SmorgasBAR that served up cocktails and non-alcoholic sips in thirst-quenching summer flavours.

There’s also no shortage of cold treats like ice cream, dairy-free options, and boozy scoops to enjoy while you wander your way around.

Smorgasburg will be taking place in the same area as last year — Captain John’s Pier on the Harbourfront grounds, at the foot of Yonge Street.

Get ready to chow down on some of the finest creations by the city’s most popular and up-and-coming vendors.

We’ll see you there, foodies!
