Toronto is getting a ski and snowboard hill & it will be right downtown

Time to hit the slopes, my dudes! No, not the snowy hills of Blue Mountain or the slippery slopes at Alpine Ski Club, at a new hill popping up right in downtown Toronto. You read that right, the city is getting a ski hill later this month and if you’re new to the sport, it’s a perfect chance to learn something new and have fun with it.

Go Skiing Go Snowboarding and the Ontario Snow Resorts Association have teamed up to bring an exciting snowy experience to Nathan Phillips Square next week. For two days only, on February 15 and 16 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the space in front of Toronto City Hall will be taken over by a 30-meter-long ski hill, free for all to enjoy.

According to organizers, this fun city-based experience is designed to attract first-timers to try winter snow sports. Described as a “gentle slope”, people of all ages that are new to this can try alpine skiing or snowboarding on the smaller hill without fear of the real deal.

“Skiing and snowboarding are an essential part of Canadian culture. By bringing the snow to downtown Toronto, the Ontario Snow Resorts Association is demonstrating its collective commitment to introducing as many people as possible to the joys of being outdoors and sliding on snow during winter”, said Kevin Nichol, President of the Ontario Snow Resorts Association.

And to make it easier for everyone, everything will be provided from skis and snowboards to even boots! All you have to do is sign up, it’s that easy.

Meet ya’ll on the slopes.
