Metro Vancouver is getting an iconic roller rink from the 1970s

Those who have lived in Metro Vancouver for a couple of decades may recall the nostalgia and family fun at the iconic Stardust Roller Rink in Surrey, British Columbia. And believe it or not, the historic rink is officially coming back after nearly 20 years – reopening as “Skate Stardust” before summer’s end!

A local favourite since its opening in 1971, many have felt the void of Stardust since it shuttered closed in 2005. This September, skate enthusiasts can lace up and head to the Guildford Town Centre for a day of shopping and skating.

The reimagined 1,690-square-foot rink will capture all of the fun of the original, offering skaters a retro-themed atmosphere with a graffiti wall, neon lights, a DJ booth, and lounge space. So get ready to be transported to a time before Y2K – the golden era of roller skating!
