Washington is home to stunning tree houses elevated 40 feet up with epic views

The kid in all of us loves the idea of a tree house. Being immersed in nature, among tall trees, high above ground. And that is what this spot in Washington offers! If you want a late summer/fall adventure in the forest, check out Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington, which offers several tree houses to choose from.

At the lodge, you’ll find there is a whole “Treehouse Village” which blends nature and comfort.

“Nestled in the tall Douglas Fir trees of the Columbia River Gorge, the Tree House Village at Skamania Lodge offers a unique and enchanting lodging experience,” they state.

“Our treehouses, cabins, and villas are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while providing all the comforts of modern living.”

As for the tree houses themselves, they’re above the forest grounds and “nestled inside the tall Douglas Fir trees of the Columbia River Gorge.”

There are several of the houses available, with amenities that include a small kitchenette with microwave and mini-refrigerator, s’mores kits, board games, coffee, as well as cozy bath robes.

Some of these are for two, such as couple getaways at the Spruce Tree Houses, while others are big enough for families of four such as the Alder Tree Houses, and the Alpine Tree Houses.

The highest elevated ones are the Noble Tree Houses, which sleeps 4, and are the newly built cabins at the Lodge.

Both tree houses reach 40 feet, and offer stunning views of the Cascade Mountains and old-growth forest.

While beautiful, these stays are definitely not on the ‘low budget’ side. Tree house stays start at $972, but they sure will be memorable!

If you’re looking for lower cost getaways, check out our list of Washington State Parks’ cabins, yurts and tents that you can book.

Safe travels!
