Canada is a treasure chest full of delightful sights and the Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park is an Alberta gem.

Located 3 hours northeast of Edmonton, this enchanting island has a beach where you can lounge in the summertime, cabins open in the winter, and several scenic pathways you can visit in the fall or spring.

Among them? The Boardwalk Trail.

“Stroll through the forest that feels completely removed from the outside world,” explains the Lac La Biche Region.

“Just over a kilometre in length, the trail begins with a boardwalk and ends with a sandy beach. A viewing platform for observing the nearby Pelican Islands is located close to the trailhead.”

Want to check it out? Wear comfortable shoes and keep your eyes wide!

You never know what you’ll see along the way—or what you’ll experience if you choose to stay the night!
