Silent Lake Provincial Park is one of the Ontario parks that can be enjoyed any time of year.
Silent Lake comes alive as the weather gets colder, making it extra special. Explore the beautiful winter trails during the day, then snuggle up in one of the cozy cabins or yurts once the sun goes down.
Sounds pretty dreamy, right?
About two and a half hours from Toronto, Silent Lake Provincial Park is a quick road trip by car.
The park is nestled in the town of Bancroft, Ontario. If you’re just heading over to check out the scenery and trails for the day, you’ll need to pay a day-use fee.
Fees start at $12.25 per vehicle. If you’re camping in one of the winter cabins or yurts, a reservation has to be made before your visit. There are eight yurts and ten cabins to choose from.
Cabins start at $144.90 per night, while yurts start at $106.05.
To book one of the cozy stays at Silent Lake, you’ll head to the Ontario Parks reservation page.
From here, select roofed accommodations and then pick the park from the drop-down menu. Put in the dates you’re interested in attending and click the map.
An interactive map will be presented to you where you can choose from the available cabins and yurts at the park, see some photos of them, the pricing and the details including how many people can sleep per accommodation and if it has electricity.
The yurts have amenities like wood stove heat, a propane BBQ with a side burner, a table and chairs while the cabins come with a propane fireplace, a mini fridge, a microwave, a kettle and a propane BBQ.
The park boasts over 34 kilometres of groomed cross-country winter trails that wind through “hardwoods, cedar swamps, and groves of White Birch.”
The snow-blanketed forests are truly stunning and if you’re up for a little more adventure, head over to Bonnie’s Pond Trail to go snowshoeing. The park has snowshoe rentals available, or you can bring your own.
Your winter wonderland awaits!
