It is no news to anyone that the “shop local-support local” movement has gained serious momentum over the past couple of years. And honestly, it isn’t surprising. Sure, hitting local shops helps support local businesses and show planet Earth some love. But it also helps get your hands on some amazingly unique finds. And thanks to Shop Makers, it is now easier than ever to be connected with all the incredibly talented makers in BC.

Given the many locations this boutique-like local shop has in BC (going by the name “Makers”), they hardly need an intro. But on the off chance you haven’t walked into or shopped from one of their pretty stores, allow us to fill you in.

Shop Makers is essentially a movement that started in Vancouver to support local artisans, entrepreneurs and small businesses. And they’ve now gone on to support artisan communities BC-wide.

They basically have local retail shops that house goods from incredibly talented artisans and makers. You’ll find a ton of really cool finds including jewellery, home decor, clothing, ceramics, cosmetics, bath and body and much more. They are practically a treasure trove of covetable items that you want to snag.

The best thing? Unlike most multi-maker retailers, vendors at this exceptional local shop keep 100% of every sale they make. Meaning, when you are shopping with Shop Makers, you are truly supporting local entrepreneurs and makers.

They currently have 7 different locations across BC. You can find the one closest to you on their website.

And if you were hoping to get a peek at the collection inside this BC version of Aladdin’s Cave, head over to their Insta. It is full of drool-worthy items and the makers who crafted them.

We actually shortlisted some of our faves from their recent shares. Take a look—
