North Vancouver is getting a new European-inspired Christmas market that’s FREE to enter

For Christmas fanatics, it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays. So even while the sun shines and the weather starts to heat up in Metro Vancouver, it’s time for a sneak peek of all things cozy and festive.

It’s no secret that the majority of Christmas attractions and markets in the area come with an admission fee, and the new Shipyards Christmas Market is here to change that.

Bringing a taste of “European Christmas cheer” to North Vancouver, the new holiday market will feature twinkling light displays, tasty comfort bites, mulled wine, an ice skating rink, festive live music and choirs, and much more. So let’s dive in!

“We’ve been to many European Christmas markets and thought we needed to share that experience with others here,” say organizers on the market’s website. “Our goal is to host a Christmas market that’s free to get into, like European traditions, and aimed at making things a little easier for single parents and low-income families.”

According to organizers, the market will follow a ‘three-year growth plan’ to improve and expand with each passing year, starting with its first event this November and December.

The Shipyards Christmas Market will run from November 29th to Christmas Eve at the following times:

  • Monday to Thursday: 11 am to 9 pm
  • Friday to Sunday: 11 am to 10 pm
  • December 24th: 11 am to 5 pm

Vendor and entertainment applications are now open, so stay tuned for more info as it comes!
