A popular New York-based Halal food spot has opened its first location in Canada. Shah’s Halal Food has just announced that its doors are open at 65 Duncan Street in downtown Toronto.
Shah’s Halal restaurants and food carts are located in New York City, Long Island NY, Boston, MA and London, England. Toronto’s location is their first venture into Canada.
It was first established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens, before opening a Long Island branch in 2016. Their goal was to become “the best Halal Food Restaurant in Long Island NY.”
Shah’s Halal is known for its high quality meats and vegetables, and its signature White Sauce and Green Sauce.
Their menu includes gyros, platters, sandwiches, salads, and you can pick your rice, toppings, and whatever extras your heart desires. Some of the popular platters include Chicken over Rice, Lamb over Rice and freshly cooked Falafel over Rice (vegetarian).
