Kissing Summer Goodbye: Seattle hotels offering ‘rainy day’ deals for the fall

These days Seattle is known for coffee and technology on the positive side of things. But what was it originally known for? It’s rain of course! That can be hard to think about during a heatwave but our city’s first-ever ‘Kissing in the Rain’ booth is inspiring both locals and travellers to cozy up in Seattle this fall.

Our rainy reputation is nowhere to be seen these days but will be back before we all know it. Visit Seattle, our city’s destination marketing organization surprised locals in Los Angeles and Scottsdale with the first-ever Kissing in the Rain booth. It’s a fully sustainable, walk-in photo booth that captured Seattle’s rainy-day joys like kissing in the rain, dancing in the rain, and more.

More specifically, the booth was built to replicate a rainy Seattle day. It’s a  17’ x 16 wood-paneled photobooth with rainfall that was captured and pumped back to make the booth fully sustainable. Visitors to the booth were able to create their own keepsake, movie-style posters against the romantic backdrop of Seattle’s skyline. Visit Seattle has stated that the booth may visit other city’s and luckily for us soon we’ll have our own rainy season to make similar memories that others have been able to make in the booths.

Now here’s something else worth noting, over 20 of Visit Seattle’s partner hotels are offering special cozy season promotions and travel specials. These range from romantic getaways to family winter explorations. So if you’ve been meaning to take a staycation, this fall or winter might just be the perfect time.
