Is there a more exhilarating way to start 2023 than by jumping into Lake Washington? Probably not. If you’re looking to shock your system into true new year new you mode, participating in the Seattle Polar Bear Plunge might just be for you. Here are the details of this year’s event.
The Seattle Polar Bear Plunge has been taking place annually since 2003 and is returning for the first in person event since 2020 this January.
The annual plunge will take place at noon on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Matthews Beach, with registration beginning at 10 AM and the plunge commencing at noon sharp.

Warming refreshments will be available while people wait for the plunge to kick off, and you’ll be able to find a variety of food trucks available, as well as games, a photo booth, music and a t-shirt/sweatshirt vendor.
