If you’re looking for part-time or temporary summer jobs, the City of Seattle has a few listed that may be of interest! From being a lifeguard, to temporary rec attendants, there are a few to select from which will also allow you to be outdoors this summer.
According to the City of Seattle, the wages for these roles can start at $24.99 per hour, and go up to $42 per hour.
“Do you enjoy fresh air and recreation outside during the summer months in Seattle? Do you love working with people? Are you looking for a fun, fast paced, team-oriented, and community-centered work environment? Come join the Seattle Parks and Recreation Team this Summer,” reads the start of one of the job descriptions.

As for the roles, several have been posted over the last few days, and those include:
- Temporary Summer Community Engagement Ambassador – Recreation Leader ($31.63 – $42.35 Hourly)
- Recreation Attendant – Summer Programs for Adults with Disabilities ($24.99 – $37.42 Hourly)
- Temporary Summer Food & Fitness Recreation Attendant ($24.99 – $37.42 Hourly)
- Temporary Recreation Leader- Outdoor Activation and Mobile Recreation Unit ($31.63 – $42.35 Hourly)
- Lifeguard – Temporary, Intermittent ($24.98 – $30.40 Hourly)
- Summer Temp Recreation Leader- Boat Ramp Ranger ($31.63 – $42.35 Hourly)
- Temporary Summer Learning Academy Recreation Leader ($31.63 – $42.35 Hourly)
- Temp Wading Pool Recreation Attendant ($24.98 – $37.42 Hourly)
On some roles, the job postings will be open “for continuous recruitment through August 2024.” Additionally, the City states that “applications will be reviewed as they are received, and positions will be open until filled. Start dates vary based on program needs.”
