Ready to watch some new films this Weekend ? While there’s always Netflix, why not check out a local film festival? The Seattle Black Film Festival is running Friday to Sunday and you don’t want to miss it. Here’s what you can expect.

The 19th annual Seattle Black Film Festival will take place once again at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. The weekend will feature a full line up of films, talks, panels and more. It’s happening both in person and with a video on demand format so you can enjoy in multiple ways.

The festival has over forty feature films, music videos, documentaries, and short films. All of which showcase the “range and depth of the Black experience.” Some films also document local experience and events like What Happened on First Street, a film by Carolyn Yip and Drake Wilson that details what happened in Seattle after George Floyd’s murder.

Considering the festival starts tomorrow, we’d recommend buying those tickets ASAP. There’s a whole host of tickets depending on if you’re buying a full pass, digital pass or tickets for individual events. You can learn more at the festival website. Enjoy!
