Seattle ranks among most expensive cities in America for beer

Seattle, expensive? You don’t say… Well, rent may be decreasing these days but life itself certainly remains expensive. If you plan on watching the Super Bowl this Sunday and having some brews, it’s going to be a little extra expensive. Why? Seattle ranks among most expensive cities in America for beer!

How was this all figured out? As the Super Bowl approaches, Betting.com looked at the cost of draught beer and bottled beer, taking data from Numbeo to create a weighted ranking of the most expensive and also cheapest places to grab beer.

Here are the top 10 most expensive cities for beer in the US:

  1. New York City, New York (Cost of a draught beer: $8, Cost of a bottled beer $10)
  2. Los Angeles, California (Cost of a draught beer: $8, Cost of a bottled beer $9)
  3. San Jose, California (Cost of a draught beer: $7.30, Cost of a bottled beer $9)
  4. Honolulu, Hawaii (Cost of a draught beer: $7, Cost of a bottled beer $9)

So where do we sit? Seattle comes in 9th place, tied with both San Francisco and the other Washington, Washington D.C that is.

Meanwhile, Toledo is the cheapest city in the US for beer with draught beer costing $3.25 and a bottled beer costing $5, according to the report. El Paso, Texas, was tied, with beers there costing the same.

The third cheapest city for beer in the US is Tulsa, Oklahoma, with draught beer costing $4 and bottled costing $5.

For now, looks like you’ll be paying a premium to enjoy those brews this Sunday but hey, it only happens once a year, right?
