If you love unique holiday lights and festive traditions, get ready to save the date for a trip to Tofino, British Columbia.
The 5th annual Sea of Lights festival is coming to the iconic BC beach town in early December, illuminating its charming marina with twinkling lights galore.
Decorated vessels will make the glowing lights float across the water, surrounding the area with holiday charm.
In addition to floating lights and seasonal displays, there will be a towering outdoor Christmas tree to check out, as well as a holiday craft market and carolling, according to the event’s website.
Have something that floats? Sea of Lights organizers urge those interested to enter the competition and decorate their boats for a chance to win Tofino’s Floating Sauna Experience.
Running from 5 pm to 9 pm, the festive market will feature a variety of island artists and vendors, offering visitors plenty to peruse in terms of locally crafted holiday gifts.
Ready to check it out for yourself? The holiday market (and all the other festivities) is free to enter, and vendors can register to showcase their products by Monday, December 2nd.
It all kicks off on Saturday, December 7th at the Tofino Resort & Marina, starting with s’mores and hot chocolate by the fire and ending with pictures with Santa and the winner announcement of the ‘best-decorated vessel.’
So there you have it, BC! Start booking your ferry rides asap, as this is sure to draw a ton of visitors to the charming, naturally breathtaking destination that is Tofino.
