These BC Parks were just named some of the most ‘epic camping destinations’ in Canada

Fortunately for Vancouverites (and nature enthusiasts across the country), BC has some of the most beautiful campsites to offer. And according to a recent survey by Scouts Canada, there are a couple in particular that stand out.

Voted ‘most epic’

First up is the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, which was ranked #2 on a list of the “most epic camping destinations in Canada.” The national park trails just behind Jasper’s, earning 34.6% of votes from the surveyed volunteer Scouters.

Known for its unparalleled combo of lush, old-growth rainforest and sandy ocean shorelines, Pacific Rim is accessible by ferry or seaplane from Vancouver.

“As camping increasingly becomes the most viable vacation option this summer, Scouts Canada (the country’s leading co-ed youth organization) surveyed its 46,704 members,” says the press release. “On behalf of all Canadians, the survey also explored many decision-making questions that are critical to finding the best campsite for any level or type of adventure.”

Voted best ‘hidden gem’

In terms of ‘hidden gem’ campsites, Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve also came in second. The heritage site is known for its moss-draped cedar trees, ancient Haida carved poles, and diverse wildlife sightings.
