If there’s one thing you can count on in British Columbia, it’s a scenic train ride through beautiful forests, valleys, and meadows. And fall is a great time to enjoy it all as the colours turn via the historic Kettle Valley Steam Railway.
Situated in Okanagan Valley, the historic railway takes passengers on a 90-minute journey ($33 per adult) through 16 km of gorgeous vistas past lush orchards and vineyards. On the ride, you can enjoy views of Okanagan Lake from the Trout Creek Bridge, 238 feet above the canyon floor.
Inspired by the bygone era, the railway was once part of the “Kootenay to Coast Connection” between 1910 and 1915, pioneering the area’s thriving fruit industry.
Passengers ride on vintage coaches aboard a restored 1912 Steam Locomotive, the “3716.”
Trains will operate at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays until Thanksgiving Day on Monday, October 14th.
Looking ahead to the holiday season? Don’t miss out on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway’s festive Christmas Express!
