We know it’s a bit early to be thinking about the holiday season, but it’s always good to plan ahead, especially when it comes to visiting annual attractions. And with the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade on pause again this year, we wanted to spotlight 5 other cities in the Lower Mainland and beyond with Santa parades happening this holiday season.

Downtown Squamish is hosting a community-wide parade that’s inclusive of all wintertime holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and more. The parade will take place from 3rd Avenue along Pemberton, and go up Cleveland to Main Street. Stay tuned via the Downtown Squamish BIA’s socials for more info on how to participate and book your family photos with Santa!

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – Fort Langley 

While this one’s not exactly a parade, Santa will be in attendance, and he’s set to arrive via canoe and will be escorted by a parade of children to the Community Hall in Fort Langley. So if you’re looking for a unique holiday event this year, head over on December 3rd for an evening of music, candy canes and cocoa, and the annual tree lighting.

Surrey Santa Parade of Lights

The annual Surrey Santa Lighted Parade is returning to Cloverdale on Sunday, December 4th. More details about this year’s festivities will be announced via socials, but the celebration will commence at 5 pm and the parade route can be viewed here.

Santa Claus Parade – Kamloops

The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association is hosting a Santa Claus Parade of their own – and you won’t have to wait until December to check it out! The parade itself will start on Second Avenue from St. Paul Street and go along Victoria Street until Sixth Avenue. Oh, and parade participants are encouraged to wear pyjamas in tune with this year’s theme – pyjama party.

Santa Claus Parade – Maple Ridge 

The Maple Ridge Christmas Festival Society is putting on an exciting parade from 4 to 8 pm on December 3rd, as well as a Christmas in the Park festival. Stay tuned for more details soon.
