The 121st annual Santa Claus Parade is rolling into the city this month, featuring new floats, clowns, bands and more. Here’s what to know about Toronto’s beloved festive event.

What to expect at this year’s Santa Claus Parade in Toronto

This year, the Parade will feature 27 hand-painted floats, celebrity clowns, thrilling marching bands and a ton of wonderful performances.

Keep an eye out for some of the new floats making their debut. There will be a Lego float, as well as creative expressions from Nintendo, Nutella, and Uncle Tetsu.

According to organizers, the parade will also feature appearances from the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, along with the Indigenous Creation Story.

Other things to expect include:

  • Holly Jolly Fun Run featuring a record 2,500 runners, who will officially lead the route starting at 11:45 a.m. from 625 Bloor St. W., ending at Berczy Park.
  • Red-Nose Drive: In support of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, cadets will be selling Rudolph-inspired red noses along the parade route (and at Union Station on Nov. 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • The Treats Zone: Official pre-party of the Parade, starting at 10 a.m., at Christie Pits. Letter-writing to Santa, candy canes from Sharp Bus Lines, warm Tim Hortons coffee and hot chocolate, cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu, and much more.
  • Queens Park North: Festive activities and treats, including Tim Hortons hot drinks, Nutella cookies, a McDonald’s café experience, and more.
    • Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for collection by Desjardins to both locations.

“The remarkable legacy of this Parade lies in bringing people together, from all backgrounds, faiths and generations – to revel in the joy that unites us over the holidays,” says Clay Charters, president and CEO of the Original Santa Claus Parade.

“That community spirit is what we’re celebrating this year, with our deepest gratitude to Canadians across the country, and our sponsors and governments at all three levels who answered our call with such passion and commitment.”
