If you’re wanting to pack in as much local sightseeing and adventuring as possible this summer, you can’t go wrong with a scenic train ride through BC. And fortunately, the legendary Rocky Mountaineer has a historic route that is perfect for the occasion, taking passengers all the way from Vancouver to Jasper.

Aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, you’ll be treated to top-of-the-line service and comfort in addition to incredible views of the Canadian Rockies. Plus, it’s the only passenger rail service to navigate through this historic rail route (First Passage to the West) – so it’s definitely worth adding to your bucket list!

Passengers will travel through the iconic Spiral Tunnels at the Kicking Horse Pass National Historic Site, travel across the Continental Divide, and wind through jaw-dropping mountain passes and dramatic canyons.

First, passengers will board the railway in Vancouver, heading through the scenic Fraser Valley to Kamloops, where they’ll witness the peaks of the Cascade Mountains and the desert-like landscapes in the interior.

Then, the journey continues to the Canadian Rockies, where passengers will cross into Alberta, taking in the pristine mountain towns of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper.

While the price tag certainly isn’t cheap at $5,233 per person – the journey includes 9 days and 8 nights total, with two days aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Note that two breakfasts and three lunches are included in the price, as well as a National Parks Pass, and access to the Ice Explorer and Glacier Skywalk.

So there you have it, BC! Yet another bucket list item for this year or next year.
