This Ontario park is a hidden gem in the Niagara region & it has two waterfalls

Searching for a peaceful outdoor experience with an engaging nature trail and waterfalls? Look no further than Rockway Conservation area, a hidden gem located within the Niagara Peninsula.

Located about an hour and a half away from Toronto, in Lincoln Ontario is Rockway Conservation area, a beautiful, remote area worth exploring.

According to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Area, this area is considered one of the Niagara Peninsula watershed’s hidden gems, as it is part of the Niagara Escarpment.

It has significant ecological features, home to several wildlife, mature trees, a salt spring, and two gorgeous waterfalls.

It is home to a trail system that connects to the Bruce Trail too!

Along this trail is where you will come across the waterfalls, one with a height of 19.5 metres while the other stands at 12.2 metres, according to the Ontario Trails Council. The flow of the water continues over a series of rapids.

As for the salt spring, it has some historical significance to the area! It is thought to have been used back in 1792, “containing some of the best quality and quantity of salt in the province,” per NPCA.

It’s a peaceful land that is sure to ignite your adventurous side. Make sure to plan a trip this fall and while you’re at it, stop by Beamer Memorial Conservation Area for one of the most breathtaking views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario.
