Experience a stunning holiday display featuring thousands of twinkling lights in Ontario. And it’s all happening on an island! The River of Lights holiday light display will take over Brockville’s Blockhouse Island this month. Here’s what to know.

Starting Nov. 29, 2025, through January 2026, The River of Lights holiday light display will illuminate the night sky with thousands of twinkle lights and flood lights set to music.

What to expect

According to the City of Brockville, the show is about 40 minutes long and repeats throughout the night. And the great part about this is that you can enjoy the show from the comfort of your own car.

Find a parking space facing the show, tune your car radio to the show frequency, and enjoy.

The first and final hours each night will display a static light show with no music. “These hours are sensory-friendly and feature softly glowing lights that slowly change from one colour to the next. No strobing or flashing lights, and no accompanying music or effects,” shares the city.

But the big display starts at 6 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m.

And the best thing about it is that it is absolutely free to enjoy.

It’s a must-watch if you love holiday experiences, especially if it includes a road trip.

Happy holidays, Ontario!
