BC’s first urban Nordic spa has officially opened its doors

If you’re thinking that a spring trip to Vancouver Island is in the cards, then you need to know about this! Ritual Nordic Spa, the first urban Nordic spa in BC, has officially opened its doors. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Just in case you’re not familiar with the concept, here’s how a typical Nordic spa experience works. Based on time-honoured Finnish traditions, Nordic spas are a mix of hot, cold, and rest-based experiences that are intended to boost immunity, improve your mood, and jump start your circulations.

At Ritual, here’s how that works. The experience kicks off in a sauna, then a quick plunge into the cold pool (at 9° C) for about a minute. After that, you pop into the steam room for a little bit, before relaxing in their salt lounge to complete the circuit. Rinse and repeat.

The classic, 2-hour visit at Ritual is priced at $59 for the week and $69 for weekends. The spa also offers private sauna experiences (starting at $149) and massages, but we say start with the classic stuff and go from there!

Whatever the mood, make sure to check out the first urban Nordic spa in BC when you get the chance.
