Thinking a little getaway to Japan is in the cards? While Tokyo is a city-lover’s paradise, we’ve stumbled across a beautiful house hidden in the forest not too far away from it. The ‘Ring House’ (no connection to the movie, as far as we know) offers a stunning setting to kick back and relax after some cosmopolitan nights out.

Roughly 2 hours outside of Tokyo by car, this Airbnb is located near Karuizawa, a resort offering activities and experiences no matter the season. You’re only 15 minutes away from a ski resort (cross that off the bucket list) as well as multiple hot springs for a little apres, well, whatever action.

As for the house itself, it’s got a pretty unique setup. A rectangular build, the home focuses on near complete immersion in the surrounding forest. So, expect windows practically everywhere, and a relatively simple, modern floorplan that doesn’t sacrifice comfort for style.

Over 3 stories (two main floors and a basement) you’ll find quite a bit of space as well. There are 2 bedrooms (but 3 beds, and space for up to 6 guests) spread throughout the home, but sadly only 1 bathroom to share. So maybe don’t really cram some folks in there if you can help it.

However, that single bathroom does have a lot to offer. Most notably, you’ve got like an embedded bathtub with immediate views of the surrounding forest. After a full day of exploring (or hitting the slopes) we think it would be the perfect place to unwind.

However, we must admit that this spot doesn’t come cheap, with a current price per night just over $1,000 CAD. Yeah, maybe just try to float the idea to your rich pals who have been threatening a ski trip to Japan for the past few years.
