While not exactly downtown, you are super close at the Riverside Apartments. Recently renovated and pet-friendly, this option also gives you pretty great access to Riverdale and Dawson Park as well, with a range of studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom layouts to choose from.

Moving over to Queen Mary Park, we get into more traditional housing that’s still inexpensive as heck. While studios here start at $626, an even better deal would be finding a suitable roommate and going for the 2 bedroom layout, which comes in at $925.

If you don’t mind being a little further away from downtown, then this could be a great pick. While their studios are still the cheapest options, it’s worth noting that the price for a 2-bedroom, 797 sq. ft. or so space is a mere $849, making it super cheap if you’re moving with someone or willing to get a roommate.

Feeling rustic yet modern? This studio apartment at Richard’s Block in Strathcona might just be the answer. Located in a heritage building but offering modern amenities, it comes with a bonus as one of the best locations on this list, literally sitting on Whyte Ave.

Of course, we had to save the bougiest option for last. Located smack dab between Oliver and Downtown, this almost brand new development features both luxury touches inside each suite and high class amenities for all residents. Sure, the private gym is a nice touch, but we’re way more interested in a 21st-floor rooftop patio for the summer months.
