In Alberta, there is no shortage of incredible places to explore, but Red Rock Canyon is something else!

Located in Waterton National Park, this scenic gem, like others in the area, is surrounded by towering trees and wildlife. However, what sets itself apart from nearby attractions is its vibrancy.

As the name would imply, this deep canyon is known for its bright red, green and white rock, which, in contrast to the blue sky above is striking.

According to Parks Canada, the trail that will lead you through the area is only 0.7 kilometres or 0.4 miles with minimal elevation gain, but if you’d like something more challenging you won’t have to go too far.

From Red Rock Canyon, you can also access Blakiston Valley, Goat Lake, and Avion Ridge which are longer.

No matter your chosen route to follow, Red Rock Canyon will feel pretty special.

Tie up your shoes, grab a snack and enjoy.
