“Million dollar view”: This Alberta Lake has a small island that you can visit & a chalet-style lodge

From peaks and valleys to rivers and waterfalls, Canada has some incredible places to visit and enjoy, but there’s something extra special about Alberta and its Rocky Mountains. One of the very best places to visit? Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park – a destination calling your name this summer!

A stunning place with plenty to see and do for the whole family, Pyramid Lake is a must-see if you’re in the area.

Located at the base of a mountain with the same name, this oasis is one of 20 smaller lakes left behind by retreating glaciers and is an incredible spot for fishing (license required) and paddling, but of course – it’s so much more than that!

On Pyramid Lake, you’ll also find Pyramid Island which is attached to the mainland by a bridge.

While this is a day-use-only site, this islet has what Parks Canada describes as a “million-dollar view,” and an adorable little gazebo.

Here, you can walk, take photos, rest your feet and breathe in fresh air before hitting the bustling town of Jasper, which is just 7.5 km away – a short and delightful car ride.

Want to stay close? Consider Pyramid Lake Lodge, a chalet-style alpine retreat with 68 rooms, nearby hiking and biking trails, a great little restaurant, boat rentals and complimentary beach yoga classes.

So… what are you waiting for? There’s truly no place like it, and with the sun in the sky, there’s no better time to visit than now.

Enjoy and happy adventuring!
