Proof of vax now needed for large events in Washington & here’s what to know

These days it feels pretty safe to assume that you need proof of vaccination to attend events. And while you are right to assume so, it’s now legally going into effect for large events in Washington state. Here’s everything that you need to know.

The new mandate means that folks 12 and older need to present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours before they can enter large events in Washington state. Now, what is considered a large event? Simply put, a large event is “a ticketed or preregistered assembly of 10,000 or more individuals at an outdoor venue or 1,000 or more individuals at an indoor venue.”

This mandate was actually announced in October but goes into effect today, November 15th. It’s being implemented as an attempt to curb a winter rise in cases and also to keep events safe for everyone in attendance. So next concert, sports game, or large indoor event you head to, be sure to have your proof of vaccination with you.

Here’s to a safe winter and if you’d like to read the full proclamation you can click here.
